Even with that turned on, it still makes a new layer whenever I pull a ruler out the first time in every document. Hitting the shortcut constantly whenever I pull one out is rather inefficient, so I'm wondering if there is a way that snap is turned off until I want to turn it on, instead of the opposite behavior.Ģ) I found the spot where I can turn that on, but it does not apply to the rulers that I pull out, only to the guides that I make using the guide tool in the ruler tool section. Similar to PS, where the dragged out guides are used to make sure things align properly instead of actually drawing along them. What I'm looking is for is the ability to dictate that when I drag a ruler from the top or right rulers on the ui, it does not snap at all as a default. This does not help with snapping or unsnapping.
